33 students from three countries -
French Guiana, United Kingdom
Germany - have met in the French
Overseas territory in South America to a
Continue of the Comenius project "Water-
net ".
As the tenth-twelfth graders of
GGS left the plane after ten hours spent flying,
they were overwhelmed from the humid heat.
The next day, the students startet the project.
They were taken to a river,
to get data about biological,
chemical qualities of water. For example the cought fish, larvar, crustaceans and of course - water samples.
"We took a trip by Canoes in the marshes"
The city of Kourou is known by the
Space Center of the European Union. The students from Europe
visited the ESA Space center and also took a look at the european rocket launcher.
The last trip took on the Devil's Islands
- known from the movie "Papillon" -
they once served as a high-security prison
Found on these island.
Because the WaterNet project isn't just about research, but also
about an artistic part of water
the Comenius project in French Guiana reavealed its artistic side: body painting.
But also the Nature was impressove to the young people from
Europe.
"This week was unique. In Germany or England we can't imagine Nature of French Guyana."
